The purpose of the DC Velo Outreach Foundation is to engage in charitable education, safety, and socially responsible programs and activities involving cycling specific causes, events, and needs to encourage safe cycling practices among children and adults.
DC Velo Outreach Foundation Goals
- To promote kids' bicycle safety and other cycling related charitable causes.
- Organize the Kids' Ride With Helmets at the third annual Grand Prix of Silver Spring on Sunday, July 22, 2007 and provide free entry and free helmets for up to 250 kids (ages 3-9).
- Hold Kids' Bicycle Rodeos to promote bicycle safety and a healthy lifestyle.
- To promote awareness of heat exhaustion and hydration during exercise for adults and children.
